NEW FLEA CONTROL MEDICATION

There is a new chewable pill used to control fleas. The new medication is called TRIFEXIS. This medication is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease. Trifexis kills fleas and is indicated for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations. Trifexis is also used to treat and control hookworm and roundworm.

Prior to administration of TRIFEXIS, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection. Some adverse reactions to the medication were vomiting, diarrhea, skin reddening and decreased appetite. In a well control U.S. field study of 352 dogs, no serious adverse reactions were attributed to TRIFEXIS.  TRIFEXIS began to kill fleas in thirty minutes after administration and was hundred percent effective within four hours.

The four sizes available are:

5 – 10 lbs dog

10 – 20 lbs dog

20 – 40 lbs dog

40 – 60 lbs dog

60 – 120 lbs dog
